Please note that the times given are the times the Lido is open. Swimmers will be asked to leave the water 10 minutes before the Lido closes.
Which days will we be open?
We plan to be open every day of the season from 28th May 2022. Our summer season peak runs from 23rd July to 5th September. We have not yet announced the final day of the season, but hope to keep things running for as long as possible.
WHEN BOOKING YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION WHICH HAS A LINK TO A QR CODE
You will need to download your QR Code prior to arrival at your booked session. Please have your QR Code ready on your phone or print out to enable us to quickly check you in. We cannot use a screen shot of an email confirmation. It has to be the QR Code for the quickest check in.
Normally last entry is 30 minutes before the Lido closes. 10 minutes warning is given and swimmers are asked to leave the water 10 minutes before the Lido closes.
HOW DO I TRANSFER A BOOKING?
You can transfer up to 2 days before a booked session. Click on the "view booking" button on the confirmation email you received. On the booking page, the "ticket options" next to the date of booking allows you to choose a new future session - where there is space and price of ticket is the same. Visitors who have logged on as "GUESTS" cannot transfer bookings - only those that have created a new account in 2022 can transfer bookings. This is a platform restriction.
The Lido is supported by unpaid volunteer staff. We do not have the resources to amend or transfer bookings.
What does a quiet session mean?
A session for anyone who needs or prefers a calmer, quieter environment. Loud talking, shouting and music are all not permitted.
How long can I stay in the pool?
The pools are open for one/two hour lane/special sessions, and three hour for general swim sessions. These are opening times, so if you arrive after the start time you will have less time in the pool. Last entry is 30 minutes before the end of a session. Swimmers are given 10 minutes warning that the session will be finishing. Sessions end 10 minutes before the pool closure. All swimmers must leave the water when instructed by Lifeguards or management.
Can we spend time around the poolside? Or is it Swim-and-go?
You can spend your time in the water or on the poolside.
How do lane sessions work?
We aim to have three lanes this season, making it easier for swimmers at different speeds.
Are sessions ever cancelled due to bad weather?
Sessions are only cancelled if thunder/lightning are within 6 miles of the pool.
Are children allowed unaccompanied?
Yes – if they are over 10 years and confident swimmers. We reserve the right to ask any swimmer to demonstrate their confidence in the water. We recommend pre-booking. All under 10s must be accompanies by a paying adult.
Do I have to swim with my child?
For admission to the pool, children under-10yrs will need to be accompanied by a paying adult.
One adult can bring in up to four children over 8yrs with them to the general swim sessions.
Over-8yrs who can swim are allowed in the water on their own but will continue to be the responsibility of their accompanying adults.
